Book Blurb

When Jake rescues a wounded reindeer less than two weeks before Christmas, he doesn't realize he has found one of Santa's reindeer-shifters.

The adorable shifter is willing to show his gratitude in sexy ways Jake never expected, but once he flies away will he be gone forever, or will he return as promised on Christmas day?

Book Review

Set in the snowy wilds of Alaska, this story made me smile. Not just because I love shifters, especially the less frequently fictionalized species like reindeer, but because there is more than a touch of magic to this version of Santa and his reindeer. It is hinted at more than once, yet not completely resolved, and I loved that. Just like I secretly sometimes hope for Christmas magic to be real (never mind my rational, scientific brain insisting that is impossible), I adore stories that leave my imagination with just enough wiggle room to imagine… more.

Jake is a bit of a recluse, and he likes it that way. He is a native Alaskan, and proud of it, and even occasionally hunts for his meals—with a bow and arrows. Not surprisingly, his first thought when he finds a severely wounded caribou is to put the animal out of its misery. There is just something about this particular specimen that holds him back. And thank Santa for that, because it turns out to be a reindeer shifter who needs help to recuperate. Jake is happy to help, even if he has trouble accepting that shifters are real.

Fleet is very grateful for Jake’s help, and eagerly explores a very physical way to thank and connect to his rescuer. Problem is, he has a job to do, so he has to leave at some point. He is clearly interested enough to want to return though…

If you like stories with a bit of paranormal magic thrown in, if you enjoy reading about two men who may seem to be an unlikely couple but turn out to be each other’s perfect match, and if you’re looking for a fun, entertaining read in a Christmas setting, then you might like this short story.
