Book Review

If you know me, then you know there's no possible way I could stay away from a book with this perfect title. *grins* It involves a squirrel shifter, of course, and a big nut stuck in a tree, or a man if you want to be realistic. 

It was fascinating to note that Jamie's brain, in shifter form, wasn't rational like his human brain, but ran fast, far and wide, exactly as I would expect a squirrel's brain to go. You know, "squirrel!" Ignoring the metaphysical issues with a six foot two man shifting to a seven inch squirrel, I was glad to see that in human form Jamie wasn't a nervous, twitching man. That might have bothered me just a bit.

Sawyer has not had a good day. He was chased up a pine tree by a mountain lion, and he broke so many branches, he's now stuck up a tree. Literally. Even worse is when a squirrel shows up, then suddenly a naked gorgeous man who is talking to him. Why is his hallucination explaining about another form of life called shifters? He must really be going off the deep end.

Since I am seriously terrified of heights, Jamie and Sawyer's trek down the pine tree had my heart in my throat many times. Poor Jamie. He's about exhausted, he's freezing as night is coming on, and he's honestly not sure how much energy he's got to give. He's had a long, busy, frustrating day, with multiple shifts. When Jamie's body finally gives in to the beginnings of hypothermia, it's Sawyer's turn to play hero, getting Jamie back to his campsite and trying to warm him up.

Oh, I so enjoyed this story! The ending was sexy, hot, and very sweet.
