Hot fitness instructor Alex and posh banker Maddie are enjoying the delicious early stages of their love affair, until Alex’s ex-girlfriend Rita re-enters the scene. Adamant to win Alex back, Rita begs for forgiveness, leaving Alex torn between the past and the future.
This is the third novella in the High Rise series.
The third story in the 'High Rise' collection has a traumatic event that leads to an indeterminate sticky wicket. This situation is confusing and rather disturbing, but immensely fascinating and provocatively entertaining. This is another winning segment!
Alex kind of wears her heart on her sleeve and since she generally wears sleeveless tank tops that complicates and exacerbates things. She also reacts at nano speed levels in response to her heart, failing to utilize a friend's calmer and clearer perceptions. She is a beautiful sweetie, a passionate lover, and a highly honorable woman. It was just a tad painful to witness her unmitigated frontal assaults when some gentle and friendly advice would have served her so well. Nevertheless, I truly adored Alex from all angles!
Rita is Alex's former lover. For six years, Alex was on cloud nine and even her mother adored Rita. However, before the breakup, Rita was cheating on Alex and eventually broke things off completely leaving Alex in a totally trashed state. Well, Rita's short dalliance now has her on the abbreviated end of the stick as she was dumped somewhat unceremoniously. Rita pulls out all the stops to try to pull Alex back into her clutches. From my standpoint, Rita is totally bad news, however, Alex finds herself more than drawn back to this previous love of her life.
A truly magnificent matchup between Alex and her current love, Maddie, is threatened by a masterful but exceptionally devious Rita. I not only like fencing matches, but chess games and Ping Pong competitions. This story had a little bit of everything, but at the center was a beautiful new love affair threatened to be dismantled before it really had a chance to solidify. Through the frenzy and deviousness, I kept my fingers crossed for the best possible outcome!
