Book Review

This short story is a bit of a fairy tale, but who is really to say what might and might not happen. Why shouldn’t the overwhelming love coursing through the veins of a self-professed bullish dyke be enough to seduce a goddess? After all, isn’t love magical at its very heart? Then, there was the note requesting her natural self to appear at a really curious rendezvous. 

Alyce is an accountant and does her best to appear as Ms. Straight and Narrow and Ms. Perfectly Normal…a necessary cover up within her work world. On Friday nights however, she goes to see the Contessa at the Club Paradise. Alyce is totally besotted with the Contessa, but accepts within her accountant’s brain the complete unreality of them ever getting together as loving, sexual partners. After all, one does have to live in reality!

The Contessa says she can feel the different energies behind the one-way glass windows where the patrons watch her perform. Alyce’s always reserves room seven. Alyce is totally amazed and struck dumb when she sees who appears at the curious rendezvous.  Someone needing help and so much more does appear. Alyce is in heaven, but she is grounded enough to offer assistance.

I want to believe this really happened, because it is so perfectly beautiful. Do read this and see if you agree with me!
