Some things in life just might be worth giving up garlic for.
It was simple curiosity that led Augustin to the vampire dating site—he thought it must be a joke started up by a bunch of weirdos. Man, was he right—but it just so happens that those weirdos really are vampires, and when one shows up at his place, Augustin’s world is turned upside down.
First he’s got a psychotic vampire to deal with. Then he’s got one who is much more fun hanging around.
Except now that Augustin knows that vampires exist, he can’t be left alive. Or can he? When an alternative is offered up, Augustin doesn’t care for it, either. After all, he doesn’t want to be whisked off to some disgusting vampire den.
Tony’s the vampire next in line to lead the coven. He wants to be a fair man, and that means arguing against killing Augustin. If he’s also attracted to the sarcastic, adorable man, where’s the harm in that?
The attraction between Augustin and Tony is undeniable, but deny it is what they both try to do. Someone is going to have to bend or break.

Yeah, you got it. I picked this book because of the title. Honestly, how could I resist? Well, that and it's Bailey, people. I knew I'd be in for a fun story that would make me laugh, and that's so what I needed. Plus, the description of Augustin in the beginning made me smile, and the way he couldn't help himself when trying to get the online dating site to accept his application, for AN HOUR, reminded me of how incredibly anal retentive I can be. It was a good beginning.
“What’s your name?” Tony asked loudly, cutting through the man’s babbling.
“A-Augustin,” he stammered.
That was when he looked at Tony, and Tony really looked at him back. Something inside of Tony went Oh and something about two and a half feet down from his head went sproing!
Now, this happened right after Augustin, in what he thought was a dream, traded insults with another vampire who was outside his bathroom window. Personally, I thought Augustin was pretty brave, since I would've screamed and run back to my bed. But when one vampire in his bathroom turns into three, and Chelsea calls Augustin fat? Well, that was a hell of a melee. Nothing funnier, seriously.
Truly? One of the best things about this book, for me, was that Augustin and Tony didn't immediately have insta-love. Heck, Tony was the only one with insta-lust, and he tried to ignore that as they both yelled insults at each other. Yep, it was my kind of romance! Well, and then Bailey made it all better with smoking hot, snarky sex. Augustin definitely has a mouth on him. Pun totally intended.
'My Life Without Garlic' is fantastic. It's funny, it's sexy, it's everything I enjoy. Oh, and a romantic happy ever after ending. Sigh. Thank you, Bailey.
