Between Rej, an interdimensional officer of the law recently demoted to interdimensional creature control, and Brady, a perfectly normal human trapped in a totally not-normal Halloween costume, this is a hilarious story that involves not just alternate dimensions, but also includes multiple time streams, techno-magic, and a cross-dimensional villain threatening to destroy it all.

Rej is a man who is used to dealing with different dimensions and timelines, but there is a certain supervillain who is making his life impossible. Rej does not trust easily, and when he finds Brady’s haunted house on Halloween (not a holiday Rej is exactly familiar with), all the ghostly special effects have him thinking he is being threatened.
Brady has dreamed of staging a haunted house since he was a kid, and now that he finally has a place of his own, he is expecting a great turnout of trick-or-treaters. Turns out Rej is the only one who drops by, but he doesn’t seem to know what Halloween is all about… but when Brady encounters some unexpected magic, Rej is the only one who can help…

If you like multidimensional adventures with some time travel thrown in, if you think that two strangers can figure out how to work together, and if you’re looking for a sweet romance with some hot action and a few surprises, then you will probably like this free short story.
