Book Blurb

Marcus Stark still lives with the pain of abandonment five years after his lover disappeared from his life without an explanation, never forgetting the only man he ever loved. When he learns Trevor has booked a pricey reservation on Sinn Island, he intends to claim his runaway lover as his submissive in hopes of learning why he left.

Trevor Dawson’s need to set things straight with Marcus leaves him with a drained savings account and a weekend pass to a new, exclusive Caribbean island, and his ex-lover’s newest haunt. On a whim, he contracts himself to be a submissive only to learn identities are a secret, as are the real owners of Sinn.

Marcus can’t lose Trevor again, and he’s willing to break the rules of Sinn to capture Trevor’s heart.  When Trevor reveals the reason he left Marcus, they must make a daunting decision. Can they overcome the dark stain of their past?  Or will they suffer heartache as the weekend comes to an end?

Book Review

Sinn Island is an exclusive and exotic location for a resort that offers guests breakaways that go from “harmless” to “taboo”, depending on what they are looking for. I do love those exotic settings that sound too good to be true and where no fantasy goes unfulfilled. And since this is only the first book in the ‘Sinn Island’ series, I am hoping for many more hot adventures to come. This first one focuses on the youngest of the three brothers who own it, and it is full of drama, regrets, and some very hot D/s scenes between the main characters.

“The one who got away” is, by definition, hard if not impossible to get over. With too many regrets muddying the water, how is anyone supposed to move on? That is exactly the situation billionaire businessman Marcus finds himself in—five years after Trevor, the man he loved without reason, left him without a word, without a good-bye, and certainly without an explanation. Marcus just doesn’t get it. And now that he has the opportunity to see Trevor again, to find out what the h*ll happened all those years ago, he is determined to get to the bottom of it. If he can ever master his anger and overcome his need to “punish” his former lover and sub for what he put Marcus through.

Trevor has had it no easier than Marcus. He suffered the consequences, emotionally and financially, of what he had to do, barely managing to make ends meet the last few years. He has spent his entire savings on a four-day break at the resort on the off-chance of finding Marcus there. His research says the man frequents the club, but he can’t be sure. He is telling himself he wants to make things right, to explain what happened, but his heart has other plans. His body is onboard with that plan, and the reunion is incendiary. But despite all their passion, Trevor doesn’t dare think they have a future.

This is a great setup. The resort works well as a background setting, the family dynamics between the three brothers and parts of their history with their father adds even more drama, and Marcus and Trevor are not only hot together, they have real issues to deal with. Pride, fear, and hesitation to come out with the full truth are just some of the obstacles they face. If you like exotic settings, if two hot men trying to figure out how to finally make things right between them sound interesting, and if you’re looking for a read that is entertaining, contains some hot BDSM scenes, and is emotional and dramatic to top it all off, then you will probably like this novella.
