Book Blurb

Adriano has left his coven seeking solace away from the city life—and his cheating ex-boyfriend, Lyle. He comes to Itáyu Lake and discovers a complication he never wanted: Ignacio. Though he never wished to find his mate, Adriano isn’t dumb enough to ignore fate.

Ignacio was getting tired of waiting. After months of waiting on this lake, his mate still hadn’t showed. A full moon night changes that when Adriano literally drops from the sky and into his arms. He realizes he’s got a lot of work to do to convince his mate they belong together, but he’s willing to do it.

Instantly, sparks fly between the two. Their relationship is complicated when Adriano’s past follows him to Itáyu. In the middle of all this, Hunters have returned to figure out what happened to Butch and what is really going on at Spirit Valley and Itáyu Lake. When Ignacio and Adriano get involved, things turn dangerous—for both sides.

Book Review

The community of preternaturals at Itayu Lake has already vanquished a few enemies, but it appears that there are enough of them left to continue to complicate things. The Hunters may have lost their leader, but some of the ones left behind are stubborn and determined to find out what’s going on. But they are not the only ones making life difficult for Ignacio, a demon who was called to Itayu lake because he knows his mate will be there as well. Said mate, Adriano, is a vampire who flees his coven and a cheating lover – a vampire who does not give up easily. Between Adriano and Ignacio’s insecurities around their mating and all the chaos around them, this story is quite a ride!

Adriano has never really wanted a mate - and the reason is quite interesting in a world where destined mates are a fact of life, yet not finding the one you are meant for happens quite frequently. It isn’t that Adriano doesn’t like Ignacio – in fact he finds the gorgeous demon hard to resist. But while Adriano doesn’t intend to reject Ignacio, he does take his sweet time making up his mind…

Ignacio is a very dominant demon who is used to getting what he wants, so he is somewhat at a loss when it turns out Adriano is his mate and any thoughts of an immediate claiming are out of the question. Ignacio is too much of a gentleman to take advantage of a merely physical attraction, and I really enjoyed the somewhat elaborate courting process he comes up with. His reaction to Adriano’s annoying ex were over the top but quite funny.

If you like relationships where nothing comes easy for the yet-to-be couple, if you want to read the next installment of the Itayu Lake community’s adventures, and if you’re looking for a read that is suspenseful, entertaining and very hot all in one neat little package, then you will probably like this novella.
