Book Blurb

Sleigh engineer Laird is an Elf on a mission. He wants comfort and joy for Santa, but his new design needs more pull than eight tiny reindeer can provide. Laird isn't willing to give up on his idea, and when he meets Bruiser, he thinks he might not need to.

Bruiser is living the dream, a moose shifter from Vancouver working for Santa and tutoring baby reindeer. Laird fascinates Bruiser the moment they meet, and they soon find a lot of common ground, in and out of the toy sack. When Laird asks Bruiser to help Santa out, he's terrified he'll mess up, but how can a moose say no to an Elf like Laird?

Book Review

As the title suggests, this is a fun story with lots of humor, Christmas-y insta-lust, and two characters who each have an important job up in the North Pole, but still manage some very hot personal time. The idea of a sleigh engineer, responsible for keeping the sleigh up to date and working well, is funny enough, but to have him be such a typical techie that his inventions may not be practical is hilarious. And for a moose shifter to be included in all the Christmas cheer is a total dream.

Laird is an elf, an excellent sleigh engineer, and he works in the building housing “engineering and ideas”. Laird is worried about protecting Santa from the freezing cold, so he’s come up with an idea for a dome over the sleigh. Nobody will see the sleigh anyway, so there’s no problem, right? Wrong. The weight of the dome is too much for the reindeer to pull the sleigh, Laird’s attempts to convince the reindeer trainer to “just add a few reindeer” won’t fly – pun intended, and no other solutions seem to present themselves. But Laird is not one to give up easily, so he keeps looking.

Bruiser is a moose shifter who recently moved to the North Pole. He teaches the reindeer yearlings all they need to know before they try out for the sleigh team. He is not used to personal attention, so when he meets Laird, and the elf seems interested, Bruiser can’t believe his luck at first. But their rapport is fast and deep, so Bruiser slowly begins to believe he may have finally found someone who is right for him. And when Laird asks for his help to save Christmas, Bruiser will do anything he can to avoid disappointing Laird.

If you like your Christmas magic to come with a generous helping of humor, if you enjoy stories about the North Pole and its inner workings, and if you’re looking for a read that is as funny as it is sweet, then you will probably like this short story.
