Book Blurb

Jules Scarlet is still getting used to the fact that he's now the mate of the alpha of the forest. Remus, a creature so powerful that he's been alive for over a hundred years. It's different living in a pack, but better than he imagined.

What's not easy to live with is the knowledge that there are people out there who want him dead. Jules doesn't want to be a burden on his mate, but he hates being afraid, and the only man he can turn to for comfort, his mate Remy, spends a lot of his time as a wolf.

But when someone from Jules' past is captured, this new captive brings about a frightening realization. The one who kidnapped and tried to kill Jules is still out there, and still hunting him with the intent to kill.

Remy will burn the forest down to the ground before he allows that to happen to the human he loves.

Book Review

In this sequel to ‘Not-So-Lone Wolf’, Jules and Remy are back and dealing with a pack some of whom are less than enthusiastic about their alpha having mated a human, the hunters who are still after Jules, and Jules giving birth. Just like the first book this is an entertaining story with only a touch of angst, some suspense, and a revelation at the end.

Jules is in a totally new environment, and is having a little trouble getting used to the somewhat primitive circumstances he now finds himself in. But he can deal with that as long as Remy is there to take care of him, and even though the alpha spends a lot of time as a wolf, he by no means neglects Jules. When one of the hunters is captured and turns out to be someone Jules knows, his need to act drives him, much to the surprise of Remy and some of the others. Good on Jules for putting his foot down!

Remy is finding it easier than he expected to adapt to the needs of his human mate. Yes, Jules is weaker than Remy might like, but he already loves him a lot and is proud to take care of him. He is fiercely protective, but still lets Jules make his own decisions and listens to him when something is really important to Jules. A good balance!

If you like stories where two newly mated men work out a new balance for their lives, if a man dealing with the final stages or pregnancy sounds entertaining, and if you’re looking for a read that is light on tension and heavy on emotion and hot man-on-man action, then you will probably enjoy this novella.
