Book Blurb

All Xias wanted to do was find a safe place for him and his cubs. With his alpha chasing after him, intent on taking one of his cubs and killing the others, racing through a blizzard in the middle of the night seemed like a good idea. He had no idea when he took shelter in a cave during a blizzard that he had found more than a place to rest. He'd found the one man determined to protect him and his cubs.

Zhuang wasn't on the run exactly, but avoiding his father's demand that he start his own clan sent him into the mountains where he couldn't be reached. When he takes shelter in a cave during a snow storm, he finds his mate and a whole lot more. He also discovers that protecting his mate means changing his entire way of life.

But even going to the shifter council won't keep them safe because the alpha who is after Xias is determined to have him, even if he has to kill everyone standing in his way. Zhuang's only hope in saving his new family is in becoming the alpha his father always wanted him to be.

Book Review

This cute yet exciting story is set in a world that seems to consist entirely of shifters. There is a shifter council supposed to uphold the law, but at least one clan exists that does not follow it. It’s the one where Omega Xias is born, raised, and terrorized into giving the autocratic alpha cubs. It’s when the alpha decides he only wants the male cub that Xias decides to run, no matter what the consequences. This is his story, and it’s as exciting, suspenseful, and cute as the blub makes it sound.

Xias is a snow leopard shifter, and his life has been hell since he hit puberty and shifted for the first time. All Xias wants is for his cubs to be safe, but what he gets in the bargain is a mate as well. Xias isn’t aware of any of the laws protecting him and his cubs, since his former alpha never followed them, nor even told any of his clan members what they are. He was too busy subjugating them and being a general a**hole to everyone. Xias is very hesitant about standing up for himself, but with his mate’s guidance he learns quickly.

Zhuang is an alpha, but he is reluctant to step up to the plate and lead a clan. All of that changes when he finds Xias and his thee cubs almost frozen to death while hiding in a cave. Zhuang immediately recognizes Xias is his true mate but has no idea how much that will change his life. He quickly finds out though, when Xias’s ex-alpha comes after them. Zhuang discovers he is suddenly more possessive and protective of his new family than he would have thought possible, but fighting a rabid alpha with delusions of grandeur is not a walk in the park.

If you like your shifters fiercely protective, if you think every oppressed soul deserves freedom from persecution and happiness, and if you’re looking for an entertaining read that is as suspenseful as it is hot, then you will probably like this novella.
