David was his first, and nothing will stand in his way to get back what belongs to him. Nothing!

Four years ago, things had been very different. In trouble with the mob and suicidal, Aaron’s twin brother, Troy, needed to get rid of his life. So he’d handed it over to Aaron. And when Aaron’s impersonation of his twin brother was revealed, Aaron feared losing the man he loved, his brother Troy’s husband, gorgeous personal trainer, David Alvarez. But by some miracle, David had fallen in love with Aaron, realizing that Aaron was good and true, the contrast to his twin, and there was forgiveness. When Troy’s insane plot to let his twin take the fall of his screwed-up life unraveled and it appeared Troy’s life was over, Aaron had hope that his life with David could truly begin.

Aaron and David now run a B & B on a beautiful Hawaiian island and life is great until the handsome and charming Randy Carlton buys the house down the beach from them. From the onset, Randy Carlton gives Aaron the feeling that he wants David. And he does.

Randy Carlton has gone to great lengths to get back what he considers to be his. He intends to let nothing stand in his way. He will have David at all costs…even if he has to kill to do it.

Book Review

The phrase evil twin is defined by Wiktionary as: "A duplicate or counterpart of something or someone that acts in a contrary, nefarious, or insidious manner." In 'Man in the Mirror' by A.J. Llewellyn and D.J. Manly, Troy (Randy) Aaron's sociopathic twin brother, gives this definition new meaning. When he returns from the death he faked, he's got one thing in mind and that's getting David back. He's altered his appearance, but there is no way he can completely mask his personality or his mannerisms. At first, Aaron and David are taken in by this odd, but seemingly generous man; they ignore the signs that he's not who he says he is. Even when they do suspect he is other than he seems, they dismiss the familiarity they feel, calling it coincidence because they think Troy is dead, and it's impossible. As Troy weaves his nefarious web, Aaron and David, more than ever need to stand united and not let him succeed.

The second book picks up from where the first one 'Mirrors' leaves off. Hoping to make a new start, Aaron and David have opened a bed and breakfast in Hawaii. Although it's a lot of work, they are doing well and are happier than ever. After all they've been through, it's a tremendous relief. They couldn't have anticipated the tsunami heading their way in the form of Aaron's twin brother, Troy. They thought they'd left Troy dead and buried back in the States, out of their lives forever; but they underestimated his deviousness.

Aaron is the first one to sense something isn't right about this new neighbor of theirs, Randy. From their first handshake, he felt it and, although he can't explain it, he still can't shake the feeling of doom that the man seems to emit. Mixed in with it is the absolutely obvious way Randy goes after David. David can't see it and tries to make excuses, i.e., he's lonely; he's hurt; he's just being friendly. This begins to drive a wedge between Aaron and David, who thinks that Aaron is being jealous and imagining things. As Aaron becomes more convinced that it is his brother, his mood becomes sullen and communication between him and David becomes strained.

This book definitely lives up to its genre description as a suspense, mystery, and thriller. At times, I could hardy stand the angst of wondering what was going to happen next. I was so emotionally invested that I couldn't put my Kindle down until I saw how it was going to come together; and it did, in a most splendid way, with the storylines woven together, flowing into one big happy ending, for Aaron and David, and with Troy receiving my nomination for the Best Evil Twin Ever award. He is a man you will love to hate. The first book in the series 'Mirror,' gives the background information necessary to prepare you for this, the second book; therefore, they need to be read sequentially. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a story about intrigue, danger, action, and love. Thanks, A.J. and D.J., for the superb experience.
