Book Review

Pro-gaming is definitely a word of its own. This story, set during a tournament, gave me a glimpse into that world, the players, and the kinds of things that go on behind the scenes. It is an ideal setting to show how opposing players can actually become great friends, and more, despite them playing against each other during the competition.

Greg is captain of his team, and he wants to win so badly he can taste it. So when he sprains his wrist and breaks a finger, and is told he cannot play, he is crushed. He quickly shows he is the captain for a reason though, and manages to keep his team mates motivated and focused. On a personal front, the incapacitating accident is the luckiest thing that has happened to him in a long time: he gets to meet his crush, a member of the South Korean team, on a much more personal level than ever before. Greg cannot believe Daesung is as interested in him as he is in the cute guy, but an exchange of lucky charms, a few encounters, and some heavy flirting later their romance takes off.

If you like sweet, tender romances, cute guys who are a little geeky and definitely shy, and if you’re looking for a read that will make you smile, then you will probably like this short story.
