Book Blurb

What happens when two broken men collide?

And one of them disappears?

Marcus Prater has already lost one man to senseless violence. He won't lose another. Calling in all his resources, former blue knights on the Atlanta Police Department, and his own experience as a Vice cop, Marcus desperately searches for the new man in his life, college student and rent boy Ben Danvers.

Can love survive in the wake of Marcus's worst nightmare?

Warning. This is the second in a three book series. It is filled with angst, gruff men, and just maybe some hot man-on-man action. Be aware, there IS a third story coming, so don't piss and moan if there is a cliff hanger in your future. You HAVE been warned...

Book Review

Knightmare by T.A. Webb continues the story begun in the first book in the series, City Knights. Freaked out by the fact that Marcus tells him he loves him and Ben echoes the sentiment, Ben runs, leaving Marcus in agony, worried sick that something dreadful has happened to him. Naturally, Marcus scourers the city, calling in all of his favors, seeking out people he hasn't seen since his previous lover was killed. He's not going to give up, especially when he's found love again after he thought he never would.

Ben is in agony too, but in a different way. He doesn't even know why he ran; but just the idea of Marcus loving him is terrifying. He never thought he'd be able to love anyone after what happened to him and, before Marcus, took extra care to make sure he'd never give his heart away. Letting down his barriers enough for Marcus to slip through is causing him to feel confused and vulnerable. He's not sure how to react, he's not sure how Marcus could love him after all he's done. Ben doesn't know if he's even capable of loving Marcus in a manner befitting him. He thinks Marcus deserves someone better.

Marcus is frantic to find Ben and nothing is going to stop him, not even Ben himself. He's sure about his feelings and isn't going to take no for an answer. When he finally finds Ben, they have a showdown to beat all showdowns as Marcus struggles to understand Ben's reasoning. As difficult as it is to understand, they need to go through this to clarify their feelings. Only then can they have the relationship they want and deserve. But, we won't find out in this book since, like the first, the ending is a cliff-hanger. All the more reason to want to read the next one. I'd recommend this book, especially to those who read the first book in the series who want to know what will happen next; and to new readers who like a hot, raw story, which is well written with outstanding characters you will love in spite of yourself. Thanks, T.A., for the exciting and nerve-wracking continuation of this great story.
