Book Review

In a BDSM context, it is usually the Dom who is seen as being in charge of a scene or a relationship, but as this story shows there are ways for a respectful sub to take the reins and set things in motion. It was very interesting to see Hadrian take that role in this short beginning to what might become a very mutually satisfactory situation for both Hadrian and Thomas, the Dom Hadrian is interested in.

In fact, Hadrian has wanted Master Thomas for a while, but he never thought they were right for each other. After seeing Master Thomas dejected and alone while his ex-sub behaves badly, Hadrian makes up his mind and offers himself up. He knows what he wants, after all, and if he doesn’t try now, things may never work out. He has already spent a very long time wishing he could get to know Master Thomas a lot better than watching from a distance.

Thomas is questioning everything now that his contract with his previous sub is up and the man is doing everything to show Thomas how much he despises him. Thomas doesn’t want to hide though, so he toughs it out. When Hadrian, a sub he has been watching for a wile, approaches him, it turns out they're after the same thing. Their trial scene is as hot as can be, and Thomas remembers what is so good about having an experienced sub who knows what he needs and is vocal about it when asked.

If you like D/s stories with slightly unusual roles that quickly settle into what both partners are looking for, if a somewhat dejected Dom and a courageous sub are your thing, and if you’re looking for a read that is as hot as it is fun while exploring some of the dynamics in a beginning BDSM relationship, then you will probably like this short story.
