Book Blurb

Former bad-boy pack enforcer Alpha Scott knew he had to change his ways if he wanted to see his thirtieth birthday. He’s worked hard to remake himself, and now that he’s bought The Fisherman’s Friend he’s within inches of achieving his dreams.

Six months ago, Scott had a one-night stand with Maccabe, a feisty Omega. Maccabe didn’t know he was on the verge of going into heat, but when he realized he was pregnant, he figured it out. Maccabe hasn’t had an easy life either. As a teenage runaway he spent a few years making bad choices before he turned his life around.

Neither of them are ready to be parents. Neither of them expects to fall in love. But that’s what’s happening. And now it’s up to them to make the right choices.

Book Review

I'm entranced, and slightly in love with, the world Willa Okati has created in the 'Omega Wolves' series. Granted, there are a lot of normative tropes occurring in a shifter mpreg book, but each book has been uniquely different and has more than held my attention. Part of that reason, of course, is my love for all things alpha, omega, and mpreg, plus the author writes some simply lovely men.

‘Course, that wasn’t what made Scott stop and stare. That honor went to the unmistakable curve of a pregnancy well underway. The Omega laid his hand over his bump, and fixed Scott with a fierce stare as he asked his question. “Did you do this on purpose?”

I had to share that quote because I love a feisty omega and Maccabe fits the bill. Six months previously, Scott and Maccabe were at a bonfire party and had a little too much moonshine ending in them barely speaking, not getting each other's names, but doing the nasty until the wee hours of the morning. Now, Scott has just bought a bar and he's planning on returning it to its former glory as an inn. Maccabe just needs some help to get to Seattle as he has someone he can work for and he can start over.

Scott is a good man who has worked hard to get where he is and to change his life around. So when he makes his promise to Maccabe to help him get to Seattle, he has to follow through even though the longer they spend time together the more Scott is bewitched. Maccabe feels the same way but he assumes Scott is doing all of this because he's a nice, kind man, and Maccabe doesn't want to take advantage of him.

Much like with the five previous books, my only “complaint” is wanting the story to be longer. I just adore this world and I'm always falling in love with these men. Another sweet, gentle romance with a feisty omega and a kind alpha. Thank you, Willa!
