Book Blurb

Constable Mark Cordwell and Sergeant Bryn Powell deliver post, transport the children to school, and make sure the older inhabitants are safe in their quiet farming village deep in the Welsh countryside. It’s their first holiday together since Mark transferred from England, and Bryn and his neighbors are determined to let Mark know he’s welcome, with little traditions that mark the season. As Christmas and the Plygain service approach, Bryn has one more gift up his sleeve—and he knows it’s the one that will make their holidays perfect.

Book Review

This story gave me the best visuals and all the comfort of a holiday season in a very small village in Wales. I always wanted to grow up in a small town, and the thought of doing it in this gorgeous area brought me many warm, fond smiles.

Mark moved to Wales from London and now he is the police constable, delivers mail to the outlying homes, checks on the elderly, and lives and loves with his partner, Bryn. In a town this small everyone has multiple jobs and Bryn is the police sergeant, helps with mail service, grows vegetables and herbs to sell or trade, walks the children to and from school every day, and takes care of the home he and Mark have made.

This absurdly delightful, sweet, and adorable story takes place within the few days before Christmas and follows Mark and Bryn through their days, interactions with villagers, and plainly shows the love they have for each other and the life they live. I completely fell in love with all of the characters and wished many times that I was in the story. The surprise that Bryn has for Mark is lovely and brought tears to my eyes. I was enchanted with this entire story and can definitely say that this one should be read in front of a fire with a nice hot toddy in hand.
