Liam Collins is in way over his head. He’s been hired to act as the face of the hermit author, Chase Preston, by attending events and interacting with the fans. At first, it doesn’t sound that bad at all.
But Chase can’t seem to keep his hands to himself. And Liam can’t stop himself from getting turned on. Is Liam merely Chase’s play thing? Is this the real reason he was hired?
The more Liam struggles to resist the sexy author, the more curious Liam becomes. Who is Chase, really?
A little harmless snooping is about to put Liam in a lot of danger.
This is book two of the Chase series. Book one is titled "Being Chase" and has already been released.
'Following Chase' is the second installment in J.J. Scotts series 'The Chase'. It continues the life of Liam who has been hired to be the “face” of young adult/new adult author, Chase. In book one I was shown how this crazy scenario came to be and Liam's reservations and concerns about the entire situation. So, if you missed the first book, I recommend that you get it and read it before picking this one up, as in my opinion, this series really does need to be read in order.
This book picked up exactly where the previous one ended and I liked that. It's also told in Liam's point of view, so it's easy to understand his near constant frustration with Chase. I mean, really, who is this guy? One minute he's mocking Liam, then he's kissing him senseless, and then he gets him ice for his banged head. I would have been just as completely confused as Liam.
Liam makes it through his first public appearance as Chase at an awards dinner of all things. Talk about nerve wracking! Luckily for him, the PR gurus had Chase's real older sister, Nicole, accompany him as his date. However, I agreed with Liam that the whole evening was surreal and somewhat strange playing the "family friendly" part of Chase Preston. What was even worse was when Liam returned to the penthouse and had to trade barbs with Chase, while fighting the arousal that Chase always brings about. And, in my opinion, Chase telling Liam he was nothing but Chase's personal plaything was just plain cruel, so I could understand Liam's vitriolic response.
Once again the author has left me hanging on a cliff, awaiting the next installment in the series. I must say that I'm enjoying these books quite a bit. The intrigue is holding me in suspense and now I have to wait to discover what is going to happen to Liam because he just couldn't stop his curiosity. You know what they say about curiosity, huh? Great job, J.J.!
