After being banned from Kinky Kritters, the sharks want revenge and Lady Leo’s son Amani makes an easy target. They decide to kidnap him and then sell him off to a crane, one who has been searching for a pretty little mate for a while now. Amani fits the bill perfectly, but he isn’t exactly happy about being a prisoner and he keeps thinking of escape. If Mr. Grainger would let him be out of his sight for even a second, he might actually be able to accomplish something.
One of the sharks has second thoughts about selling Amani off to someone intent on abusing him. He calls into the shifter crime tip line, and speaks with Officer Nero, who is quickly on Amani’s trail and intent on rescuing him. Saving Amani is only the beginning as the ferret takes an interest in the little lion’s wellbeing as he recovers and moves on from his ordeal. Amani is stubborn, and even being kidnapped couldn’t break his spirit. Nero wants to see him get better, but he also wants to have Amani tied down and helpless under a whip as well. Amani has his own ideas of what a good Dom is made of, and a ferret doesn’t cut it for him. He wants pain, and lots of it, and in his mind only big predators can do that for him.
Nero can’t wait to prove him wrong.
After devouring 'Punishing the Panda', book one in the 'Kinky Kritters' series, you can sure believe that when I saw the title and description for book two, I was salivating at reading it. I really adored the first book and had a feeling I would like 'Flogged by the Ferret' even more. I was so right!
I was introduced to Amani in the previous installment and seeing how he totally came through for Rodney and helped him get rescued, I wasn't thrilled to see him get bad treatment at the hands of the sharks because of it. I'm starting to not like the shark shifters. At all. Amani is Lady Leo's son and Kinky Kritters is the family business, which is good since Amani is a totally submissive pain slut. That does not mean that he wants to be sold off to the crane as chattel to be used in any manner the old shifter desires. Yuck! Amani is so relieved when Nero and his team come to rescue him. Granted, it had only been two days, but the old shifter is a true pervert and had Amani doing things more suited to a home health care aide. *shivers*
“So I’m not your type?” Nero teased.
Amani snorted. “No, you’re not. I prefer predators. Big ones. Like cats and bears.”
That was the stupidest thing Nero had ever heard. “You’re seriously rejecting me based on what I can shift into?”
“Yes.” Amani didn’t seem apologetic at all.
Amani is young and definitely has an attitude. He's a little spoiled and can't always see past the end of his nose. Nero finds Amani's petulance adorable and thinks the young cub who tries to be menacing is anything but. Amani is trying to ignore what happened, saying he is fine and acting as if nothing major happened. Nero knows it might come back to bite him on the butt and he lets Amani know that he's available if he needs to talk. As tough as Amani tries to be, he ends up on Nero's doorstep fairly quickly. Which leads to them doing a scene at the club so Nero can prove Amani wrong. And boy does he!
This was a fun installment in the series although there were a few things that niggled at me as I was reading it. They weren't a big enough issue for me to not like the story, though, so I'm still looking forward to more books. These are easy, fun, sexy, books with a little drama and nice happy ever afters. Well done!
