Book Review

This was a wonderful short story that showed the life of Aaron, a firefighter, and his long-time partner, Zak, an artist. It was nice to see an established relationship and get the inside scoop, so to speak, on their day to day lives. The love and laughter and the oh so hot sex were awesome!

Being the partner of someone who works in a dangerous profession certainly requires its own set of nerves. I think they have to be a strong person to be able to withstand their loved one leaving for their shift and not knowing whether they'll come home again. I'm sure they don't think of it like that. In their mind it's probably just what they do. But, regardless, it leaves its own stressors behind with the partner.

And, of course, there's all the bad that Aaron sees on the job. The motor vehicle accidents, the fires, and the just plain stupidity of what people can do to themselves and each other. He needs his home life to be happy and filled with love and contentment to keep Aaron grounded and good at his job. Luckily, he has Zak, and they love to distraction.

A really beautiful short story about the reality of life as a hero and his partner.
