Book Blurb

Omega tabby cat shifter Mick Stone has been through hell. Rescued by his friends from his abusive ex, Mick’s just learning to become independent again. The last thing Mick expects is to fall heads over heels for Dallas, a dominant panther shifter and one of his rescuers. Dallas is unlike any man he’s ever met. Confident, sexy, and lethal, Mick thinks he doesn’t stand a chance, until he finds out Dallas wants him too.

The moment Dallas scented Mick, he knew he’d found his mate, the one man he’s been searching for his entire life. He’s offered Mick a place to stay and given Mick time to heal, but once he learns Mick’s ex is back in town, Dallas has no choice but to step in. The stakes are high, but he’ll do everything in his power to claim and protect his rightful mate.

Book Review

This is the second installment in the story about a clan of tabby cat shifters with some very restrictive and cruel rules about how dominant shifters are in charge, can do very little wrong, and are “entitled” to do whatever they want to submissive shifters. The rest of the shifter world has moved on, but this clan lives in seclusion and privacy to protect the old ways – at least they used to. With Steve, now mated to werebear Damon, and Mick having left the clan, there is potential for all kinds of plans and revenge, and that is the focus of this second story.

Mick has been through a lot, even more than Steve. Mick is an omega tabby shifter, able to breed, and as such his family basically sold him to the highest bidder. The creep raped and abused Mick for five years, but now that Mick has escaped, he is able to breathe more easily and begin to have his own life. It doesn’t come naturally to him and he needs a lot of encouragement from the man he knows is his true mate. It was good to see Mick relax and come into his own.

Dallas is a panther shifter, a loner with a dark past, but he is determined to do right by his mate. He has no idea how to do that without scaring Mick back into isolation, but he does his best. As it turns out, encouraging Mick to do what he wants – draw and paint – is the best way to get him to open up, and Dallas suddenly finds himself more interested in art than he ever thought possible.

But the tabby cat clan is not ready to lay low. In fact, the deal the Elders made with Dallas and his two ex-prisoner friends Damon and Vince is not something the Elders wish to honor. Soon evil plans are afoot and both Mick and Dallas need to be strong if they want to survive this newest threat.

If you like romances between shifters from different species and backgrounds, if you like seeing an abused man blossom under the care of his mate, and if you’re looking for a suspenseful read with a lot of loving, then you might like this novella.
