Welcome to the Old Tavern Club, a front for a shifter rescue organization. Can the club rescue shifters and make the perfect matches while they’re at it?

Can Jag save mated pair Hill and Cather or will the abused lynx shifters fade away?

When Pirou calls his brother Jag to the Old Tavern Club to help with a pair of lynx shifters, Jag is happy to help. Rescuing and rehabilitating big cats is his job, and it makes him the perfect person to take on the pair that Pirou has rescued from a circus.

Mates Hill and Cather were about to be put down by the circus that owned them as they refused to perform after their Master, tiger shifter Darri, was killed in an accident during his last performance. The pair have been beaten, mistreated, and are near death’s door, so it’s going to take all of Jag’s resources to help these two kitties find themselves again.

Along the way, Jag just might find his heart in peril, too.

Now that Jag has rescued Hill and Cather, can he help them find the freedom to love again?

Mated lynx shifters Hill and Cather have been rescued by the good people at the Old Tavern Club, specifically by Jag, who has brought them back from the brink of death and convinced them to give life, and possibly love, another chance.
Jag wants to be more than just their rescuer, though. He desires to be not only their Master, but the recipient of their love as well. Hill’s all on board, but Cather is going to take more convincing, especially when he begins to have trouble shifting from one form to the other.

Can Jag help Cather solve this new obstacle to their freedom, or are the lynxes doomed to remain in their new rooms at the Old Tavern for the rest of their lives?

Book Review

The idea of a shifter rescue, a place where mistreated shifters of different varieties can find refuge from those who have abused them, is still as interesting to me as in the first book of this series. And in the current installment, it is not one but two shifters who need help - a mated pair of lynxes who are at death’s door when they arrive. Pirou, who runs the refuge, knows exactly whom to call – and as soon as his brother, Jag, arrives, things begin to change.

Jag is a jaguar shifter, and he works with big cats – not the shifter kind – in his day job. But as much as an advantage as that is, when shifters need his help his dual nature is even more useful. He has got his job cut out for him here, and it’s a good thing he is patient. Jag is pretty good at figuring out what is wrong, what the lynxes need, and he is just stubborn and dominant enough to insist things are done his way. The kits will drink the water and eat the food he gets them, and there will be cuddling.

Hill is the physically smaller of the two lynxes, and he trusts a little easier than his mate, Cather. When Jag presents fresh meat and cool water to them, Hill can’t resist for long. No matter how growly or reluctant Cather is, Hill is ready to live again – despite the terror of having lost their previous Master. Cather wants to proceed with their plan of following their Master into death, but Hill is too tempted by Jag’s care and snuggling. It takes Cather a lot longer to open up…

If you like stories about cat shifters, if a big, strong jaguar/man stepping in to save two smaller lynxes/men sounds interesting, and if you’re looking for a read full of cat pleasure, snuggles in whatever form the three shifters find themselves in, and some hot physical play once they are all in man-form, then you will probably like this sweet novella.

Jag, Hill, and Cather from ‘Fading’ are back, and ‘Freedom’ is the continuation of their story. Now that Jag, a jaguar shifter, has saved the mated lynxes from fading away after they lost their previous master to an accident, the real battle for survival and a better life begins. They are still at the shifter rescue, a place run by Jag’s brother, Pirou. It is a haven for mistreated shifters of different varieties and offers refuge from those who have abused them. But Jag has a life outside the rescue, and he wants his newfound mates to move in with him.

Jag, in fact, has a whole list of things he wants: he can’t wait for Hill and Cather to call him Master, he looks forward to their submission to his every wish, he wants them to love him back the way he is beginning to love them… the list goes on. He does his best to be perfect for them, but they are the ones who need to make the final decision.

Hill just wants to please Jag, and love both the men in his life. His submission is easy, natural, and harsh words or spankings are his worst nightmare. He understands that Cather needs different treatment, and he is beginning to trust Jag to know this. But Hill has never been “outside” since they were prisoners in the circus and he is scared.

Cather does not submit easily, he loves the fight and someone who pushes him. He is still not convinced that Jag can love him, but he has given up on dying quietly now that Hill is safe. Cather is beginning to understand that he is as much a part of the “deal” as Hill is, where Jag is concerned. But he can’t seem to shift back into his lynx form, and he is terrified of going outside.

It takes a lot of talking, loving on Hill, and spanking of Cather’s bottom for the two stubborn lynxes to begin to believe they can have a life after the rescue – together with their even more stubborn new Master. I enjoyed watching them “negotiate” and love each other into sated puddles as they slowly made progress in the emotional arena as well. And the ending was just about perfect!

If you want to know how Jag, Hill, and Cather from ‘Fading’ are getting on, if you enjoy lots of physical three-way action in your romance, and if you’re looking for a very entertaining read full of snuggles in whatever form the three shifters find themselves in, then you will probably like this cute short story.
