His life would never be the same…

Honor Vengeance took on the task of hunting down the illegally enslaved Earthlings because of his firm conviction he would never fall victim to their unique charms. But his mission brings him into repeated contact with humans, and his resistance quickly fades. Worse, there’s one in particular he hungers for.

Carver Tam is on the verge of playing pro football when he’s abducted and sold. Furious that he’s lost everything he’s worked so hard for, he’s not about to surrender to his new master. When he ends up on a world where slaves are worked to death, he has no choice but to lead a rebellion. The last thing he was ever expecting was to be forcibly rescued by an eight-foot-tall, maroon-colored alien officer named Honor Vengeance.

Their attraction is instant and irresistible, but causes devastating consequences. Will their relationship be the last straw that forces the Krase government to cease their mission to rescue the illegally enslaved Earthlings?

Book Review

Finally, in the eighth book of this partly humorous, partly fascinating series about cross-cultural love affairs, we get the story of Honor Vengeance. He's been a bit of a bad guy in previous volumes, or, shall we say, a Krase who took his duty far too seriously and wasn't willing to make allowances for feelings, and certainly not for those involving the newly discovered species of humans. Once I got to know him better in this book, I have to say, he more than redeemed himself and actually really grew on me!

Honor is as Krase as they come. Duty first, forget any sort of compassion or understanding, and as for love? Forget it. But then he starts meeting humans. First, he holds them in contempt, then he is very hostile, and finally, he begins to want one for himself. Not until he is open to the possibility does he even find one he's truly interested in. And when he does? Even though he thinks he's prepared, the roller coaster of emotions still takes him by surprise. Not that he is easily deterred, and that is a good thing!

Carver is a football player about to go professional when a gas explosion changes his life and he ends up abducted and sold into slavery on Krase. He is not one to give up, and even though his new life is nothing like his life on Earth, he adapts. He even leads his co-slaves into a revolt. Seeing Honor and wanting him are the same thing, and from then on, Carver is determined to make things work between them. In typical human fashion he uses logic only sporadically, mostly going on gut instinct. And when he ends up having to confront a ship full of Krase warriors to save a fellow human, he doesn’t hesitate to do whatever it takes. As for him teaching the Krase to play football? Priceless!

If you like two strong, determined men coming together driven by lust, and expecting that one of them will have to submit, only to find it is much more fun to be versatile, if you enjoy reading about different cultural beliefs that collide, and if you're looking for another hot read in this very entertaining series, then you will most probably like this book.
