Book Blurb

Darian Levesque is finally ready to move on after heartbreak when he reluctantly attends an equestrian event and glimpses an angel on horseback. Believing the striking young man has a girlfriend and is beyond his reach, Darian leaves without a word. Three months later, Darian sees his angel again, this time at the hospital, where Liam Grayson is recovering from a tragic riding accident… only to walk away from his attraction to Liam once more. It’s frustrating enough to make Liam’s sister, Paulette, confront Darian and lead him through the obstacles, but will he make the final jump and make Liam his?

A story from the Dreamspinner Press 2013 Daily Dose package "Make a Play".

Book Review

Sometimes appearances can be deceiving, and the assumptions Darian makes when he runs into Liam the first two times are a good example. Yes, he is trying to do the decent thing and not come onto a man who seems to have a girlfriend, but the speed at which Darian comes to that conclusion just because a woman talks to Liam is a bit, well, fast. Over the course of the story he learns the error of his ways and suddenly there is hope. The sweet, sometimes funny way the story is told supports the underlying message "don’t give up too soon!".

Darian could do with a little love in his life, but the one man who attracts him after a long dry spell seems to have a girlfriend. When he runs into him again, he is still awfully attracted to Liam, even though he's in a wheelchair in the hospital where Darian dropped off his cop partner after they got into an altercation. As decent as Darian's attitude is, his assumption stops him from wanting to get to know Liam. Darian needs to learn to be a little more observant and stubborn!

Liam is on track for the Olympic equestrian team until his horse takes a bad fall and he ends up in the hospital. The first time he sees Darian is three months later, and he is immediately attracted. But Darian runs. Liam's sister takes matters into her own hands, and she means well, but she is very overbearing. Luckily, Darian "survives" her interview and Liam gets a chance to get closer to Darian.

If you like sweet stories with a great sense of humor, if you enjoy reading about men who are meant to be together but need to get rid of a misunderstanding first, and if you're looking for a short read that will make you smile, you will probably like this short story.
