Book Blurb

Cori knows her Xyran captivity has damaged her ability to trust, but when she meets Reiyn, desire flares despite her fear. He's clearly hiding something, but when a distress call sends them into space together, passion takes over.

Cori enflames Reiyn like no other female ever has. She threatens his control over his hidden Xyran heritage, but he can't fight his instincts. When his true nature is exposed during the daring rescue of a dying Xyran captain, will Cori forgive him, or will he continue his life's work alone?

Captain Kyuk welcomes death when his ship is destroyed. He doesn't expect to survive, but when Cori and Reiyn find him, instinct pushes him to live. He's spent years smuggling slaves to freedom—can he now give up his own liberty to bond with Cori and Reiyn? Or is he too damaged to build that kind of emotional connection?

Book Review

Hang on to your seats, post-apocalyptic times with war, alien domination, and burned-out planet surfaces provide the background for this space opera. The tension, including confrontations with species having little to no love of humans, moves at a good pace, but the real winning feature is the connection and follow-up by a rough and tumble gal with two intense and sexy guys. Sounds like a winning formula to me. Excitingly carnal!

Corazan, Cori, is the lead female in this exciting drama. An initial unnerving connection during an information exchange, an anxious space rescue, and a brutal confrontation against a longstanding enemy may feel like it’s all in a day's work for Cori, but it really never is. Cori's early life story involves being held prisoner by one of Earth's most violent enemies. She sidesteps a fairly brutal side of her capture since she is underage. Luckily, a compassionate, friendly, and deft fellow slave choreographs an escape for them both. From that moment on Cori's life is as a mercenary helping to free additional captives. Dynamically engaging!

Reiyn is half human and half Xyran. His Xyran nature is naturally dominant and requires exacting discipline to keep under wraps. Survival and great heartache are his constant companions, but he is steadfastly persistent in his desire to stay alive and aid in the rescue of those less fortunate. So his freeing of slaves gives him purpose, direction, and balance. Surprisingly to him, he is rather attracted to Cori with whom he has business dealings. In addition to being quite moved by her demeanor, he eventually gives in to her stalwart position that she won't sell her ship, when it is a vessel Reiyn must procure as soon as possible. So Reiyn accepts Cori's terms for the use of her ship with her as the primary pilot. Prior to their departure and much to the surprise of each, Reiyn engages Cori in a super steamy sexual encounter. Ah ha! A taste of things to come. Splendid sultry seductiveness!

Kyuk is the starship captain in trouble and much, much more. He is a Xyran but from a really low-status of warrior hardly different from the slave class. So it is very impressive that he makes it to his current status. However, he faces a catastrophic reversal of fortune and is forced to utilize a hidden escape route he installed on his ship. The odds of survival are really low. Yet not only is he relieved to be rescued, but he is overwhelmed by a reunion he thought was an impossibility. Oh my, Kyuk is also very drawn to Cora in a manner that feels almost predestined. Splendiferous!

For me, the whole concept of bonding is at first difficult to comprehend or embrace as natural. However, within this delightful story it not only resonates but powers the dramatic denouement with an exciting and feverish passion that provides for each person in this triumvirate love, peace, and a meaningful direction for the balance of their lives. A bright and shining liaison for the ages!
