Book Blurb

Liam yearns for Master Neal’s harsh touch, but Neal fears that a part-time Master can’t give a full-time sub everything he needs.

Liam’s world crumbled after the unexpected death of his Master. Prone to panic attacks and other social anxiety, Liam doesn’t believe he’ll ever find another Master who would be willing to take on such a challenged sub full-time. Too distraught to go back to Club Consequence, where he met the man he thought he’d be with forever, he decides to give Kiss of Leather a try.

After doing a piercing gig at Kiss of Leather, Master Neal signs up to become a member. On the night he performs a demo as the final step to being accepted, he meets a sub who brings out his protective urge and makes his heart come alive. Neal isn’t scared off by Liam’s anxiety or social awkwardness. On the contrary, he finds the sub to be refreshingly honest and endearing.

They try out a scene to see if they’ll click, and their connection is everything they’d both hoped it could be. However, the road to love and a Total Power Exchange isn’t an easy one. Neal still hasn’t discovered all there is to know about Liam’s traumatic upbringing, and he’s not sure if he’d ultimately be the right Master for Liam.

Both men are forced to face the truth about love, life and what it means to share it with another person. But before Liam can start over with Neal, he’ll have to cut the cords to his past and trust that Neal will be there to catch him when he does.

Reader Advisory: This book contains references to a traumatic and abusive upbringing.

Book Review

I'm fairly sure I've mentioned this before in my reviews of previous installments, but one thing I LOVE about this series and these books, is that the author always begins the new book with a view of the couple featured in the most recent prior release. It was fabulous to see Jordan and Chuck as they're moving forward in their life together. I also love to reacquaint myself with the other couples I've fallen in love with. The author must have been paying attention when I begged for this book to be about Liam. He's such a sweet young man with some issues he has no control over, and the death of his Master has thrown him for such a loop. I want him to find his own happy ever after and a place at Kiss of Leather.

Many of the subs at Kiss of Leather have made my protective instincts shoot into place, but no one has broken my heart and made me fall in love quite like Liam. It would be different if he was snarky, or bratty, and had all of these anxiety issues, but instead, Liam never feels good enough, he has very little self-confidence, and he tries so hard knowing his reactions have people thinking he's weird. Master Neal is a piercer at a tattoo shop and a part-time bartender. In fact, he's the piercer that Master Jordan had come and do Chuck's guiche at the club. His attraction and desire to protect Liam happens immediately and Neal is very curious about this young, gorgeous sub.

The passion, not just physically but mentally and emotionally as well, that occurs between Master Neal and Liam is a thing of beauty. I really adored watching them figure out their new relationship, be honest and upfront with each other, and work through some of Liam's issues, together. Neal is really perfect for Liam. Neal is much younger than Liam's previous Master, and having been raised by a couple of hippies, he's very relaxed and easygoing. Exactly what Liam needs to feel safe, protected, and loved. It was great watching Neal re-evaluate his concept of what a full-time Master/sub relationship could be. The joy that Liam radiated as he found his perfect Master was so honest and pure, that it brought tears to my eyes.

It's hard to say whether Neal and Liam are my favorite couple. I've loved each of the books in this series, and the couples are fantastic. Regardless, I so enjoyed this story! Now, if only Chuck doesn't do something stupid trying to go after Warren without Stone, then all will be well. Unfortunately, I've got a bad feeling. Write faster, Morticia, please!
