Book Blurb

Kendra spends her days and nights running a business, sculpting, and leading a Tahitian dance group in Kauai. She can’t squeeze anything else into her life, but she dreams of cowboys. Sexy, hot cowboys in tight jeans, low-tipped Stetsons, and dusty boots. Men who know all about how to please a woman. She enjoys her fantasies, but can’t imagine ever settling down. But one night with one would be so nice. Surely that would get her dreams of a white knight cowboy sweeping her off her feet out of her system.

Because of an accident that Shane believes left him “less of a man,” he doesn’t see a wife and children in his future. Carson, his ranching partner—and sometimes lover—thinks Shane is wrong. Carson refuses to let Shane settle for a life of rodeo bunnies who only want a romp in bed with a bull rider. Shane deserves more than that. He manages to sign Shane up with a matchmaking service to, hopefully, meet another kind of woman, maybe someone who will appreciate Shane for the man he is. Except Madame Evangeline expects both of the cowboys to go on this special one night date. It doesn’t take long for either cowboy to realize that one night with the purple-haired, hip-shaking beauty in Kauai might not be enough….

Book Review

This novella, part of the 1Night Stand series, was super delicious. Plus it has an ending that just lit up my heart, misted my eyes, and provided a fantastic happy ending. One of the curious repetitions that have occurred from the two previous 1Night Stand stories I have read is becoming a sweeter scenario for me. Initially and still hovering as a disbelief is that recipients receiving Madame Evangeline's Match Making Service 1Night Stands gifts seem so resistant to take advantage of such a generous present. Well, now I think that initial attitude really works, as I think it did in Cowboy Dreamin'. This is an M/M/F focused story and I recommend it!

Kendra Barlow was dumped by her ex in the community of Koloa in Kauai, Hawaii about four years ago. Since then, she has practically worked every day just to stay afloat financially. She co-owns a shop with her friend Alexis. Alexis met her husband through Madame Evangeline and she keeps trying to get Kendra to agree to accept a gift from her husband for an over-the-top wonderful night of fun and bliss. Kendra is stubbornly refusing. My, my, these recipients can often be so immovable. However, I just loved Kendra, even if her head was in the sand some of the time!

Shane Carter owns part of a ranch, the Double C, in Kansas and runs it with his partner Carson.  To help bring in more funds, Shane is still on the rodeo circuit as a 'bull rider'. That activity generates a lot of bruising plus wear and tear on his left knee. His business partner who is way more than just that gave up the rodeo circuit last season. He really thinks Shane should have done the same. Shane suffered an injury during one of his competitions that was so painful on multiple levels, that his entire life was turned inside out. Shane hates to think about it and the consequences. Feeling so diminished and nearly worthless on some levels, it’s astounding he continues to face each and every day considering he feels so damaged. I think Shane is heroic and more than a survivor. He is also really not on board with the Madame Evangeline's one-night stand that Carson has set in motion. Another diffident!

Carson Donnely is way more than a business partner to Shane. They are extremely close, intricately and intimately interlinked. They butt heads a lot, but they are also loving and giving to each other. Carson takes the advice of another friend and he contacts Madame Evangeline. Oh my goodness, Shane will have nothing to do with this. Carson is a really good man and I adored him!

Some luck, some fandango dancing, a timely invitation to the boys, and Madame Evangeline pulling some strings places all the three main characters together in Kauai, Hawaii. This provides the opportunity for an initial simmering, then heatedly sparkling, and finally a luscious and hot co-mingling of bodies, hearts, minds, and spirits. This was fabulously entertaining and sexually liberating for all involved. Remarkably, there is a poignant time delay that really creates a kind of red carpet moment for happiness and perhaps even bliss. Sublimely enjoyable!
