Alpha Cody Peterson knows there is no shame in asking for help when wolf shifters are going missing, especially not when the help comes from enforcer Morrow Parks, who turns out to be his mate.
Morrow is the older brother of a neighboring pack Alpha. They've suffered losses, too, and information provided by the Peterson pack may be the key to locating the missing shifters. Morrow has always been all about the job and his duty as an enforcer, but he hadn't planned on Cody entering his life, and he's not quite sure how to handle the distraction.
Balancing the job of finding their missing pack-members and starting a relationship isn't always easy, but working side by side does have its benefits, and Cody sure as hell isn't going to let Morrow push him aside while they're on the job. If they're going to find what is lost, they need to be a team in every sense of the word.
It's exciting to be returning to the world of 'Pack Leaders' by Dawn H. Hawkes where the author has created a paranormal world that allows for four alpha brothers to lead the same pack. Personally I think it's ingenious. If it can be done without anger, rivalry, jealousy, or hate then I would feel a whole lot safer living in a pack with four strong alphas to protect me. Since these alphas still haven't solved the mystery of their own, and other packs, missing members, I was interested to see how working with the other packs was going to go.
Cody wakes up on the morning that Morrow Parks, enforcer for a neighboring pack alpha, is coming to help them investigate all the missing shifters, only to discover he and Morrow are mates, and then Morrow blows him off as not "being important right now". Oh Hell No. Two snaps and all that jazz! I didn't blame Cody for contemplating pushing Morrow’s SUV off a cliff, except then he remembers he left Morrow at the house with Duke and Harley. Uh. Oh.
As Cody and Morrow continue to investigate the missing pack members with no leads, a sudden possible lead falls in their laps. Almost literally. Cody and Morrow sneak in to the building late at night and manage to rescue the only three shifters left. One is from Cody's pack, one is from Morrow's pack, but the other man, Win, they're not exactly sure what he is. I'm not saying anything more because it's a spoiler, but now that they've got an idea about what's been going on, they'll need all their strength to go after the rest of their missing pack members.
Definitely my favorite of the series so far! Now that Cody, his mate, and his brothers know what they're up against, I'm really looking forward to seeing where the author goes with the story. I also can't wait to see what happens between Harley and Win. A very exciting and informative addition.
