Book Blurb

Elijah has never been the type to fight. Now he has no choice. Mirov's forces march toward them, hellbent on destroying the mages and their supporters. Elijah must stand by his lover Sarin, and with their friends, they must win the battle or face utter destruction.

War is an ugly thing, though, and no one comes out unscathed. For one of them, it is utterly devastating. But hope looms on the horizon, if they can only make it through the night.

Book Review

This fifth book in the DungeonCrawl universe brings the dangling story lines to a very satisfying close. But not before Elijah experiences battle and realizes he never wants to leave this alternate version of Earth. What used to be a computer-based adventure game for him has become a home – with friends and a lover he never had in his previous life.

The tension runs high for most of this volume as Elijah and Sarin face their final battle with Mirov.  The newly developing subplot of Nathan’s and Braden’s relationship is a nice addition. Nathan, the biological son of Queen Elsbeth, has fallen for Braden, who is a hunter. Since the illegally crowned King Mirov has slandered Elsbeth’s name, Nathan is seen as a more likely candidate to become the rightful king and ruler of Timiria – but he is more than hesitant to accept based on his past as a simple peasant. Braden has his own secrets, and I was fascinated by the revelations.

If you want to find out what it’s like to live inside a world created as a game, if you want to see how Elijah and Sarin face their final confrontation with the evil King Mirov, and if you’re looking for a read full of suspense, action, revelations, and hot loving, then you will probably like this fifth part of the “what happens when a computer game comes to life” series.
