Book Blurb

In a literal city of monsters, it's Hunter's job to sort out the inevitable messes: vampire debt collectors, werewolves who piss on everything, and surprise shifters. There's mundane problems, like paying rent, and keeping his haunted blender placated.

Always happy to be making money, he takes a job from a foul-mouthed reverse tooth fairy to find her missing twin. Just when things seem like they couldn't possibly get worse, in comes Sakari, a hot newcomer with a taste for danger.

First edition published by Riptide Publishing in the anthology 'My Haunted Blender's Gay Love Affair, and Other Twisted Tales', August 2014.

Book Review

"The name’s Hunter Burrows, and I’m a finder in the city of Nightshade. Never heard of it? Lucky you. It’s a city of monsters."

Hunter has no idea how he became a were, or even what kind he is, nor does he have any memory of how he came to be in Nightshade, a magical dimension by the name of Dev run by… you guessed it… Medusa. When he says it's a city of monsters he truly means it since the only humans there are food and it's populated by vampires, weres of all kinds, zombies, you name it. And, in Hunter's case, a haunted blender that talks to him and he can't get rid of. Hunter was an insurance investigator in his former life so basically being a finder is all he's qualified to do unless he wants to join a gang. He'd like to not have to work but he needs to eat and pay off his gambling debts.

Hunter finds Sakari stumbling out of an alleyway, much the same way Hunter did when he first arrived. Hunter does not need to be babysitting this newbie to Nightshade, but the guy is gorgeous and gay, so Hunter could get lucky. When Sakari shifts for the first time, it turns out he's a pretty cool and venomous animal, so Hunter figures he might come in handy while he's trying to investigate the disappearance of a reverse tooth fairy possibly tied to smuggling.

Hilarious fun that I totally expected from Andrea Speed. Thank you!
