Book Review

Y'all know I love shifters, right? If I had my choice to become a vampire or a shifter, I'm thinking shifter, hands down, and probably a wolf or a large cat. I think it's incredibly sexy. Granted, I happen to think those animals in the wild are sexy, so I guess it's not a big shock that I would want to become one. As soon as I read the description for this story my interest was piqued. I mean, Rabb is an alpha werewolf who has issues with authority. That just screams out dominant top, right there. Brant has some good secrets, and that just screams out good story, there!

Rabb Miller has just opened City Lights, a shifter bar in the city center of Bright City. Unfortunately for Rabb, the mayor has a "no-shifter" policy in place. But Rabb has a history with the mayor and before hostilities can erupt, shifters start getting murdered in the city. He calls a statewide conclave for all alpha shifters to come to the city so they can discuss the killings and formulate a plan of action.

Brant has been the mayor for ten years and there's a reason for his policy about shifters. It's just not exactly the reason he tells his constituents. He has left his true nature behind, has left family, friends and even his lover he pushed away in order to become something he can have pride in. But now everything is falling down and if he can't help find the murderer then all out war will explode within his city.

This was a very exciting story that I enjoyed immensely! The love story between Rabb and Brant was mysterious, sexy and very, very hot. The world building the author has done is pretty typical of most shifter/paranormal stories, although the fact that Rabb and his pack prefer the city to the country is a little different. The identity of the murderer comes as a surprise, and the capture is quite thrilling. I greatly enjoyed this book by Declan Sands and will be most interested in reading more in the series.
