Book Blurb

Top tracker Rock Morrison travels from Alaska to interview with Rescue for Hire. Short and wiry, sporting long dreadlocks, tattoos, and piercings, Rock knows what he wants, and now, after meeting Brad Hayward, who he wants.

Brad Hayward may be tall, muscled, and an all-American blond. But losing his children in a tragic event, and an overbearing mother, has left him a shell of a man. Rock takes him away to heal and discover the joys of two men being together. Life starts looking up for Brad until his mother shows up with vile threats and brain-numbing demands.

Rock has his hands full on his first mission finding a missing dementia-afflicted old man, confronting Brad’s mother, and tracking down an on-the-run Brad. Not all take-charge bad boys are tall and muscled. Not all battered souls are twinks. But with the Rescue for Hire men, it’s always a fun ride as their love conquers all.

Book Review

If you've been reading this series, then the surname Hayward shouldn't come as a surprise. It belongs to Pip, Jack's husband, and Tyler, the pro baseball player who had Tony as his dirty little secret for a year, and then there's Mother, and she's a doozy. 'Brad's Rock' is book seven in the series and I was eagerly anticipating the Rescue for Hire family dealing with her once and for all.

Brad listened to his mother when she said they were having the neighbors over for dinner and they had a lovely daughter. Brad and Tracy ended up in a sham marriage, for thirteen years with three kids. Tracy had finally gotten the courage to file for divorce with Brad in full agreement, when a freak accident caused by utility workers ended Tracy and the children's lives. Brad has spent the last year living in a hotel drinking. When his mother calls with an invitation to dinner with the neighbors and their lovely daughter who just moved home after a divorce with her three boys, Brad is terrified and runs straight to his brother Pip and the opportunity to live again.

Rock is five foot eight and one quarter, has piercings, full tattoo sleeves, and dreadlocks. He's also an excellent tracker whom Cade has called to interview as Alex's hip has gotten more unstable over the years and he's going to need to switch positions within the company. Unfortunately, a couple of days before Rock arrives, Alex is shot in the upper thigh, the team almost loses him, and as is the way with the "family" the entire team is at the hospital and will stay there until Alex can be brought home. This leaves Rock staying at Cade's house with Brad.

Brad can’t stay at Jack and Pip's home. Their three-year-old girls bring back way too many memories, so Cade asks if he can stay at their house with the new potential recruit coming in. Brad has no idea his life is going to change so exquisitely. Brad is Rock's nightly dream. Rock may be small in stature but he's got a dominating personality and while Brad is bigger, physically, he's also a touch submissive. Rock is determined to see where this leads.

Another excellent addition to the series. I enjoyed watching Rock and Brad fall in love. I'm thrilled that Brad's siblings and his dad, along with Rescue for Hire, took care of his mother although I would have really enjoyed seeing that drama. However, Brad finally got the happiness he's always deserved with Rock. Can't wait for more!
