Book Blurb

Adam Bates is in trouble. He’s virtually penniless, is being threatened by his landlord, and now he’s late for work at his new job. Expecting to be chastened by his boss, Adam doesn’t expect to be provided with a protector instead. He definitely doesn’t expect his minder to be a big, bad wolf with attitude.

Marcus Black has just arrived back home, but he won’t refuse his brother when he asks him to help a little tabby cat. When Adam is threatened by his landlord in front of Marcus, his alpha wolf won’t let him stand by and let it happen.

Adam is about to find strength in submission, and his own set of claws. Marcus is about to find the mate he’s been searching for in a deceptively small tabby. Let the games begin...

Book Review

Cats and wolves are not supposed to get along, but Adam (a werecat) and Marcus (a werewolf) couldn’t care less once they meet and realize they are mates. Not too many others seem to bat an eyelash at the situation, either. Not surprising in a place where a bar owned by a family of werewolves seems to be the center of social activity. Well, definitely for the supernatural members of the community.

Adam may ‘only’ be a tabby shifter and starts out as rather lonely and helpless, but once he ‘finds his claws’ – watch out world. The puny human who tried to terrorize Adam is in for a nasty surprise. I really liked how Adam slowly grows more self-confident and manages to leave his father’s stupid prejudice against gay men behind.

Marcus may be an aloha werewolf with somewhat domineering tendencies, but he is also very caring. His first concern is Adam’s well-being and he exercises self-control to the point of self-denial. Only initially though, once his mate begins to trust him, he is able to be himself again. It’s a good thing Adam really likes him the way he is!

If you like shifter stories, if mates being attracted to each other and becoming a couple within hours of meeting is what you’re looking for, and if the humor of a cat and a wolf trying to live together makes you grin, you will probably like this book.
