Book Blurb

If you had the chance to step back in time, would you?

What if you could live in a community built around the morals of yesterday?

Rylie James isn't happy in today's world. She longs for a time when life was simpler. When people could work off their land and be part of a true, small town community. Trying to bring back history, Rylie has spent years building a new society that is a replica of an old 1800's town.

Before making the big move to the historical utopia of Aspen Meadows, Rylie's world is turned upside down by the free spirited Luna Forester. Now she questions if she is trying to build happiness, when she may be staring directly into it.

Luna Forester's entire life is about to change with one single proposition: move to Aspen Meadows and create a new future. Moving to Aspen Meadows is her chance to start over. Start a new life, find happiness...and possibly find love. But can she deal with the stubborn, overbearing, yet completely seductive, Rylie James?

Book Review

The three main characters are presented with depth, complexity, internal turmoil, or necessary obliviousness. The two women were fascinating and the younger niece was intriguing. The supporting story is a bit thin in comparison. The location where the three women eventual end up felt supportive.  Since I get very attached to characters, I was fairly riveted to their interaction with each other and the struggles they had to overcome. I liked this book.

Luna Forester is toiling to meet her monthly obligations and possibly dabbling in a fraudulent business enterprise.  She is completely alone in the world until she is presented with an extraordinary offer that will link her up with an utterly volatile aunt and her somewhat spacey niece. The opening interactions with these three ladies are a bit like following Alice’s Big White Rabbit. Yet, it never really reaches the impossible-to-believe level. Even with some offbeat and outlandish opening sequences this is still quite delectable.

Rylie James is a powerful and proud woman who is an explosive and sensuous individual, too. Driven by internal and external strengths that were impressive to say the least, she is clearly the central energy source that propels this short story to its climactic conclusion. She is a bit too overbearing as an aunt, her heart is in the right place. I would love to meet this lady.

I have to say I did keep waiting for this story to get real and it did move into an unexpected level of clarity. A few really hot scenes between the two women brought everything down to earth. I think this curious gem is definitely worth a look/see.
