Book Review

This is a really nice little interlude about Colby and Noah's lives six months on from the end of 'Worth Waiting For'. It fills in one of the gaps between what they went through before they both admitted they were in a relationship, and them in full-fledged love as we get to see them in 'Worth a Shot'. I loved seeing them again, and both Noah (in all his Dom-y hesitance) and Colby (in all his sub-y certainty) made me smile.

Noah may have admitted he loves Colby, but he isn't out. After having been rejected by his parents when he came out and having had to fight his way back to a normal life, I can’t blame him for being hesitant. And as he walks into Colby's birthday party, he knows his lover's parents will be there. He is terrified! The only thing that makes him stay is Colby's delighted surprise that he turned up at all. As always, he cannot refuse Colby something that makes him happy.

Colby, on the other hand, didn’t dare hope to see Noah in a situation he knows will make his lover super nervous. And he never assumes anything, would happily leave with Noah as soon as he feels uncomfortable, okay, more uncomfortable than he already does. But his happiness at being able to celebrate with Noah there is as clear as birthday punch.

If you like to catch up with characters after their story has officially ended, and if you're curious how Noah handles "meeting the parents", then you will probably like this free short story.
