All Mitch wants for Christmas is a quiet holiday free from grief. Patching up the face of the target of a mugging in the back alley of his bar seems to throw that wish right out into the cold Chicago night. But the tatted, pierced, and skinny-jean wearing Keller Graham is fearless and proves to be more than a pair of icy blue eyes lined in black. Keller may be a thief, but Mitch never expected him to steal his lonely heart.

Book Review

Even though I'm not really big into celebrating Christmas, a good holiday story will always fill me with warmth. 'An Angel in Eyeliner' by Hunter Frost, is just such a tale. Far too short, as I was craving more by the end, nevertheless, it reminded me of all the important things that this time of year can bring.

Mitch is, in one word, good. A good person, and a good man. When he stops a gang from beating up a young man in the alley behind his bar, it's second nature for Mitch to bring him in, loan him some warmer clothes, let him take a hot shower, and bandage his wound. Mitch was a combat medic, and that old training is never very far away. Plus, it's Christmas Eve, and no one should be cold, wet, and dirty during Mitch's favorite holiday. Of course, Mitch has his own demons to battle during the holiday season, and there's something about Keller that pulls him in. When he hears about Keller's childhood growing up in foster homes and orphanages, and then being homeless since he aged out, picking up work as he can, Mitch's heart goes out to him.

An absolutely refreshing holiday story. I fell, completely, for Mitch and Keller. I would've loved it to be longer as I definitely could've read more of these men. Thank you, Hunter.
