A Holiday Sequel to Saved

With their nightmare at the hands of a serial killer behind them, Jack and Will are determined to give each other a perfect Christmas. As the countdown to the big day begins, life continues on with all its little ups and downs, laughs and tears, as Jack searches for the perfect gift and Will makes plans that will change everything for them.

Surrounded by friends and family Will and Jack do their best to have the kind of normal, loving Christmas neither of them has experienced in a long, long time. No matter what kind of Christmas they have, though, they both understand that as long as they are together the day will be perfect.

When the big day arrives, Jack receives a gift from Will he never thought possible, one he didn’t even know he wanted and the last gift he will ever need.

Book Review

Although I did not read the previous book where Jack and Will meet, this holiday story stands perfectly on its own and I really enjoyed their antics. It is obvious that they love each other a lot, would do anything to make each other happy, and even tolerate each other’s quirks without too many problems. But trying to figure out what to buy their new lover for his first Christmas has both men just a little rattled – much to their friends’ and my amusement.

Will has big plans, but he is very quiet about them, so I wasn’t sure what they were until the very end. Jack is a little “louder” about his intentions, and I have to say that I enjoyed his thought process and preparations. In between dealing with a very pregnant colleague at work and all the shenanigans he gets up to with Will, Jack is a very busy man. Their Christmas preparations around the house were very amusing – especially the “jingle bells” episode! The “final reveal” on Christmas morning is epic in more than one way and demonstrates perfectly why these men belong together.

If you like watching established couples celebrate their first Christmas together, if you think that a macho cop has a right to be a little sentimental for the holidays, and if you’re looking for a read full of happiness, warmth, and a little well-meant sneakiness, then you will probably like this short story.
