Dragonkeepers Oliver and Banger and their lovers Arturo and Mik are trying to juggle more than a dozen dragons, a clutch of new dragon eggs, and an injured coyote shifter deep in the Chihuahuan desert while working out their own relationships.
The four of them find a whole new meaning of family even as they fight the elements, a dangerous supply run, and an old face from dragon warrior Mik's past. Can they keep it together long enough to find out what's going on with dragonkind?
This third book about the ‘Desert Dragons’ brings a lot more fun dragons, another new member of the growing human family, and quite a few surprises. Oliver and Arturo, as well as Banger and Mik, continue to take care of their dragons and fall deeper in love by the minute. The tone of this installment is mostly light and happy, and while there are a few tense moments and a small amount of danger, there is no angst or major drama.
Oliver is getting worried about the lack of space. Right now, a lot of the dragons are still in their eggs, but what will happen when they all hatch? Banger is also a dragon keeper, and I think it’s good there are two. All their dragons come in pairs as well, after all. Arturo and Mik try to support them as best they can, and when they redefine their relationship by mutual consent, they are even happier than before.
Daniel, the rescued coyote shifter begins to heal, and a couple of dragons seem especially interested in him. But before much can happen, another shifter joins them, bringing news of impeding doom and a dragon war about to happen. No details are revealed as yet, but I can sense the potential for action in the next book.
If you like this series and its colorful twin dragon couples, if you enjoy stories about men who find out that love can change the way they look at everything, and if you’re looking for an entertaining read filled with very hot loving, then you will probably like this short story.
