"Welcome to Ulla Major! Home to the thousand-floor high rise, the best synthetic food in the quadrant, and the safest space port for five planets. Please be on the lookout for two fugitives, Adella and Sally. Adella Perski is wanted for the murder of her boyfriend. Sally Nupson is wanted for assisting a fugitive. They are armed and dangerous."
Just the words a girl wanted to hear. Adella is stuck running from the law with her best friend Sally by her side. She isn’t exactly wrongfully accused either, but that as they say, is a long story. They’ve been through it all together, the good and the bad. This should be no different.
Things take a strange twist when a wild space chase turns into a romantic touch between the two friends. Could this be the start of something more than lust? Will they live long enough to find out?
This is a wonderful story of two long-term friends as they try to make their way in 2082. There is a good deal more sizzle and passion, however, which is a fine counterpoint to the trouble these two gals find themselves in. Add to the mix, or should I say trio, a very smart classified cargo ship that is space travel ready with some terrific and necessary tweaks to its AI (artificial intelligence). Four Five Two is a true hero to our gals on the run.
Adella has once again found herself with a guy who turns nasty. She wonders how she gets herself into these situations. This time events turn very dark and quite troublesome. It seems, Adella’s planet of origin always finds the ‘woman’ in a bad situation guilty. At her wits end, Adella calls on her best friend for help and some timely extrication.
Sally is a licensed cargo ship captain with her own vessel and long-time, unrequited love for her best friend Adella. Up till this current bad situation, she has kept her deep and loving feelings to herself. However, as the two gal pals make their getaway with the wonderful assistance of Four Five Two, Sally feels she can now reveal her love for Adella, that has been bottled up within her for years.
Adella has many second thoughts about involving Sally in her getaway and getting them both labeled as fugitives. They have always done the best for each other since they were way younger. Sally feels she can now for the first time express her deep love for Adella as they race away from the authorities and plunk themselves down on a little moon far, far away from their home.
This Sci-Fi short story has a dark beginning that later evolves into many light, lovely, and passionate moments. I was totally captivated and heartily recommend it.
