Book Blurb

Ex-Marine Zach Mayhew is willing to do anything for his dying grandmother. When she asks him to find a fairy ring in the forest and beg that she be allowed to spend her last days in Faerie, he obliges her (even though he thinks it's nuts). But when a gorgeous Sidhe noble steps out of the ring and asks for a night in his bed in return, Zach learns that history has a way of repeating itself, and a boon asked by moonlight can have unexpected consequences for his heart.

Book Review

An ex-Marine looking for Faeries in the forest to ask for a boon? The idea alone had me grinning, and when I started reading the book, I was quickly involved in Zachary's story. I felt for him as he took care of his sick grandmother, and wanted to make sure he did everything in his power to make her comfortable.  Even go into the forest, recite poetry and expect a faerie to appear. That setup was really well done, and what happened afterwards definitely kept me interested.

Zachary is a realist. An ex-Marine, who has fought for his country, and is now retired so he can take care of his aging grandmother. He does not believe in the supernatural, and he fully expects to return empty-handed from the forest. His shock when an actual Sidhe lord appears was palpable, and Zachary's attempt to make sure the man cannot trick him made me grin. They reach an agreement, and the passionate night Zachary spends with Jerrek as "payment" for the boon surprises both of them.

Jerrek is a typical Sidhe lord: arrogant, aloof, and out for his own advantage. He is as shocked by the passion between him and the "re human" as Zachary, and he doesn’t deal with the surprise very well. Luckily, even a Sidhe lord can admit he was wrong, even if it can take some time…

If you like stories about humans interacting with supernatural beings, if you enjoy reading about men who are pushy, even aggressive, until they discover passion and pleasure that change everything, and I you're looking for a hot read with a touch of humor, you will probably like this short book.
