Author's Interview

Let's start with you telling us a little bit about yourself, Megan.

What would people be most surprised to learn about you?
I’m only 5’2” tall. I’m a shortie, or as I like to say, funsized.

When did you start writing, is it something you've always been interested in, or did it develop later in life?
I’d always liked to tell stories, but the idea to become a writer didn’t really blossom until after school. I did find an old young authors essay I’d written in school, but the desire to be a published writer didn’t hit until about ten years ago.

Has it been everything you thought it would be or not?
Yes and no. I’ve met some wonderful authors, readers and friends by becoming a published author. I’ve realized a goal to get published, but there are some pitfalls. There are negatives, but honestly the positives outweigh those.

How did it feel when you realized that your very first book was going to be published?
I whooped, hollered and ran around the house the day I got my first contract. My very first published title came from Totally Bound under my other writing name of Wendi Zwaduk.

What's your favorite part of writing a book?
My favorite part of writing a book is the pre-writing phase. I get to know the characters with charts and journals about them. I do some planning, but the plans never quite work out in the story once the characters take over. I’m a plotser... I plot and pants.

Do you get time to read for pleasure? If so, which books do you enjoy?
I do get time to read for pleasure! I like to read within the romance and LGBT genres, but I’m also a fan of legal thriller books and horror books. I don’t want to see the horror movie, but I’m all for being scared in the book!

Are there any other genres you'd be interested in writing?
I like reading about horror, but there’s no way I could write it. My imagination is vivid, but horror isn’t my forte. One day I’d love to write a true sci-fi book—something with other worlds and planets--, but I’m not sure when it’ll happen.

Please tell us a little about your most recent release.
I got the opportunity to take part in the Aim High Anthology with Pride Publishing. I love Totally Bound and Pride, so this was great. I wrote about a character who is getting out of the Air National Guard and coming home. The welcome he comes home to isn’t what he expected. I like this story because it’s not pretty or simple. Why? Life isn’t pretty or simple. There is a character in the novella that will be disliked and another who is kind of wishy-washy, but that’s the idea. Life isn’t always planned out and neat. I hope that comes through to readers and they enjoy the book.

What can we look forward to in the future from you?
Sometime next year my novel, Wild Card, will be out from Pride. It’s an MM featuring a porn star who wants to go into mainstream movies. Will he be able to? Will the public accept him? And what about the puppy next door—will he rescue a dog and his career? You’ll have to read the book to find out. *Grin*.

Anything you want to say to your readers?
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being a reader and for leaving reviews. I learn and grow because of you and you all rock!

Sometimes the best laid plans are meant to be thrown way off course.

Hunter planned his life very well. He’s got his position in the Air National Guard, the family he’s always wanted and a life most people would love to have. Except he’s not happy. His friends all know his truths, but them knowing about his sexuality and him admitting it are two different things. Thankfully Ryder—his best friend—has always got his back.

Ryder has loved Hunter since they were in school. He wants to have more than Hunter’s back—he wants everything. Forcing his Guardsman to come out as a gay man wasn’t on his agenda, but Ryder isn’t above a bit of gentle nudging.

Will the things Hunter can’t control be his undoing, or will he accept who he is as well as the love he’s craved all of his life?

Andrew Vegas knows his job. He’s a Dom. But there is more than one side to him and he’s tired of keeping the other parts of him hidden. “Kiss me, Hunter.” Instead of waiting for Hunter to take the lead, Ryder snagged his mouth for the kiss. The moment their lips touched, Hunter’s fears subsided. He knew all along he liked kissing guys, but kissing Ryder was a special kind of sexy. He pushed the connection further, sliding his tongue along the seam of Ryder’s lips. When Ryder opened to him, he
moaned.

Without breaking the kiss, Hunter dragged Ryder onto his lap. He thrust his fingers into his friend’s hair. Chest to chest and groin to groin, this was where he belonged. He tangled their tongues, tasting the tangy beer.

His jeans stretched tight over his cock with delicious pressure. Hunter let go of Ryder’s hair, then shoved one hand up under his shirt. He smoothed his fingertips over the dips and valleys of Ryder’s torso. His skin sizzled. Why had he waited so long to cross this line?

Ryder gripped Hunter’s shoulders and rocked his hips. “Jesus,” he said, panting. A fine sheen of perspiration glittered on his neck and temple. “You’re dangerous.”

“I want you.” Hunter popped the button on Ryder’s jeans, shoving both hands beneath his waistband. “So much.”
